Pontiac Repair: 2000 Sunfire;windshield wipers dont stop, windshield wipers, motr

My windshield wipers seem to keep going when I want them to stop. Even on delay, if I'm going more than 30mph they'll keep going. It's especially frustrating when I click them off and they keep going and I have to slow down to get them to shut off. Lately they've been going the whole time until I come to a complete stop. What coud be the problem? Any help would be appreciated.

Well it's either the motor is bad or the wiper switch is bad. There is a park switch inside the motor and if that is bad then the motor will keep running. If the switch contacts are stuck in the on position then it will continue to run as well. I would lean more towards the issue with the motor rather than the switch. Either way in order to find the issue the the wiper arms and cover over the motr is going to have to be removed to check the inputs to the motor to see if the switch is sending the wrong siganl to the motor or the motor is bad.
