Pontiac Repair: overheating, electric cooling fan, coolant temp

Question
my 1995 pontiac grand am se 3.1 ltr has been overheating. i have a brand new radiator, thermostat, and water pump. i flushed the radiator and it's still overheating. any suggestions?

Answer
Hi Chris:
does the electric cooling fan come on? if not try turning on the a/c if equipped and it still works after it's running for about a minute the electric fan should come on. If not I would look at the fuses and relays for the fan. With out a scan tool it's hard to say what's going on. you could have a bad computer, bad coolant temp sensor that reading cooler than what the engine is actually running at thus not telling the computer to turn on the fan. You could have an angine mechanical issue like a bad head gasket. It's hard to say but these are a few things to look at. Good luck :}
