Pontiac Repair: bonneville dome lamps on when in reverse, keyless entry system, dome lamps

I have a 1995 Bonneville that the center dome lamp comes on when the car is in reverse. The reverse lights work. It is just the center dome light comes on, not all of them. it also does not work when the dome lights are turned on.remote keyless also stopped working, the trunk works, but not the doors, the remote tested good.

Umm this is strange! I don't know what the 2 things would have in common..... You could have a bad ground for the reverse lamps and for some reason the car found a ground through the circuit for the dome lamp. But I have no idea why the other ones wouldn't come on as well meaning the ones in the foot well areas. As for the keyless entry do the door locks work with the switches inside the car?? if not then the issue is with the base locks not the keyless entry system. The keyless receiver is working at least partially if the trunk release is working. You could have an issue with the remote function receiver that is causing the locks not to work. It's heard to say without seeing the car.. Hope that helps you out some that dome light issue is VERY very wierd! I don't have access to manuals back further then 1998 so I can't even see what those 2 things would have in common...... Good luck :}
