The 'check oil level' light is intermittently on...oil level is good (per dip stick) and runs fine...light goes off but is on most of the time...bad sensor? If so, how to disconnect? Thks, Rich

Answer
Hey Rich:

Yup more than likely a bad sensor. It's in the bottom of the oil pan it has 2 wires on it. Usually if it's disconnected it will keep the light on. if you unplug it and jump the 2 wires together it should turn the light off as long as there is not a broken or corroded wire somewhere between the sensor and the engine computer. after you jumper the wires together it may not turn the light off right away it may need 1 cool down cycle before it recheck that sesnor when you start the van up. good luck :)
