Pontiac Repair: Thermostat location on 95 grand am, upper radiator hose, pontiac grand am

Where is the thermostat located on the 95 Pontiac Grand Am? 3100 SFI V6. Not a good mechanic, is this an easy job?

Hey Richard:

It's not an east one to get to. It's under the throttle body and you have to remove the throttle body in order to gain access to the water outlet. if you follow the upper radiator hose which is on the drivers side of the car back towards the engine you will see a long aluminum housing that the hose is attached to you need to remove that and the thermostat is under that housing. It's really hard to get to and a tight fit at that. Good luck :}
