Pontiac Repair: Power Steering Fluid Leak, power steering fluid leak, power steering fluid

Question
Hello, I have 1995 Pontiac Bonneville SE edition, with a 1 month leak in power steering fluid. When I went to mechanic shop, they told me that they need to replace 2 different hoses (priced at $50 and $30) and power steering cooling pump (priced for $150), total including 1:40 minutes of labor comes up to $430. Now, I have 15 year old vehicle with a small leak. I average 1 bottle of power steering fluid/2 weeks. I believe it should not be that hard finding exactly where the leak is coming from and more then likely I would think it would be the hoses. My question to you is do these prices reflect average cost of replacement and if I should start with changing hoses first, as well as - what is the difference between power steering pump and power steering cooling pump. Please help me out here, I appreciate any input.

Answer
i have seen the hoses leak on many of those cars, the pump may be leaking but it is probably very minor.  The hoses should resolve most of the leak, and the prices are very good, here at the dealer the hoses are much more.  You have the ultimate say in what is to be done to your car, so tell them you only want to replace the hoses and will address the pump at a later date or when it becomes more of an issue.
