Pontiac Repair: 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix SE Power Windows, pontiac grand prix, test light

My front, passenger side power window is sporadic in going up and down and
most of the time will not work at all.  It sometimes will work if I wait for several
days before using it.  Is this a problem with the motor or maybe a fuse issue?

Hey Gary:
Well it can either be the switch or the motor. there is a circuit breaker inside the motor it's self. if the regulator which is what moves the window up and down is binding up the circuit breaker inside the motor over heats and cuts out the motor when it cools back down it will allow the motor to run again. The motor is not serviced on that regulator it is an assembly. It could alos be the switch. take the door trim off and use a 12 volt test light and see if you have power and ground to the motor when it doesn't work if so the motor is bad in not the switch is bad. good luck :)
