Pontiac Repair: heater, green fuse, pontiac transport

Question
i have a 92 pontiac transport van and the heater quit working.  the fan won't work at all, not on heat or on air.

Answer
Hi Tina:

Well it could be something as easy as a blown fues for not so easy like some kind of a wiring issue. first look in the fuse box and see in the heater/fan fuse is blown it will be marked on the box what they are for the fues box is behind a door in the glove box on that year van I believe. The fan fuse is usually a 25 or 30 amp fues White/clear or green fuse in color. if the fuese are good then next thing would be to check for power out at the motor under the hood. you need a 12 Volt test light and turn the key on and turn the fan on high and see if the purple wire to the motor has power if so then you have to check the ground which is the black wire connect the test light between both wires if the light lighst the motro went bad. if there is no power or no gorund there is a wiring issue that has to be tracked down. Good luck :}
