Pontiac Repair: 1991 sunbird, turn signals not working, pontiac sunbird, 1991 pontiac sunbird

Question
Hi, I was wondering if you could giv e me an idea of why my turn signals aren't working. I have a 1991 pontiac sunbird, 4.0, automatic.

I have replaced all the fuses related inside the car, (where in the world are the fuses under the hood?)

The 4 way flashers work, I replaced one burnt out bulb. Before the signals failed, they sort of lagged when they blinked, and there was a crackling sound comming from between the dash and the fuse panel (I thought it was because it was cold out and my car makes odd sounds in the cold).
Now, I did find the flasher for the 4-ways, and its fine... but I couldn't find the one for the signals. (Are they separate circuits in this car?)
Any ideas would be appreciated :)

Answer
Hi Kristen:

that car has 2 flashers one for the 4 way whuch you found and one for the turn signals. it's about in the same place as the 4 way flasher and it looks like the 4 way flasher element. It's going to be mounted to the metal on the dash board under the steering column. you were on the right track just needed a little more guidance. good luck:}
