Pontiac Repair: ignition switch on grand am, sterring wheel, gm car

2001 grand am ignition switch will not turn from off position. I am able to put key in and out of ignition. key will not turn at all. tried lubricant and lightly pecking key wiggling key but nothing seems to work any suggestions? Oh when this happened the lock steering will no longer lock either. All happened at the same time.

This car needs an ignition lock cylinder. it's pretyy common either one of the tumblers is jammed up or the retainer that holds the tumblers in place came looses in the cylionder and it not allowing it to turn. It's a job for either a lock smith or the dealer. You better off going to the dealer then a lock smith. As for the sterring wheel they don not lock on a Grans Am none of the newer gm car and truck lock the wheel with the key out of the ignition. good luck :}
