Pontiac Repair: 93 grand prix fuel, prix fuel, pump fuel

ran out of gas fuel pump quit working replaced fuel pump,fuel relay turned over once then nothing pump is working but no fuel at engene lines clear and filter new is it a presser issue?

it could be a bad pump you can hear it running but no pressure. The pump could have come disconnected in the tank I think that year has a little rubber hose that attaches the pump to the fuel line that may have come off if you forgot to put the clamps on or it they wre not tight. I'm not sure what year they started using a device called a fuel pump pulsator this may be on the car  as well instead of the little piece of hose. If that pulsator diaphram ripped you will not have any or little fuel pressure. If you hear the pump running it's not an electrical issue is some sort of mechanical thing going on. Retrace your steps and you'll find the problem.
