Pontiac Repair: 96 grand am, insterment, bad cluster

my 96 grand am inst panel is not working the dash lights up, but all the gauges do not work when the key is turned to the run position the gauges will move up alittle and then while running pin themselves all the way down the fuses were all cheched and the gnd under the dash by the bcm

It sounds like a bad insterment cluster assembly. It could have a bad ground to it as well or even a bad serial data liane between the PCM and the IPC assembly. The most likely cause is just a bad cluster assembly. If you have good power and grounds to it and everything else on the car works okay I would venture to say that the cluster is bad but strictly a guess at that. good luck :)
