Pontiac Repair: 1992 fiero, propane torch, fireo

The oil pan is stuck on a 1992 fiero pontiac.  I have a student that is using this as a school project. He can not remove the oil pan. Any suggestions?

They didn't make the fireo in 1992 it was from 1984-1988. but to answer your question if it's a 4 cylinder engine the oil pan is held onto the engine by silicone sealer. remove all the bolts and then use a propane torch to hear along the outter edge on the pan where the bolts go through and the pan will come right off. The heat from the torch will melt the silicone and he will be able to remove it. Just be super careful not to get to much heat on it and make sure the oil is drained out of the engine so it doesn't start a fire. Good luck :)
