Pontiac Repair: 1999 pontiac grand prix gt 3.8 (not supercharged), mass air flow sensor, mass air flow

Question
I wrote to you a week or so about my car not starting and it turned out to be the Mass air flow sensor.

Well I have another problem. It was actually already there but never had it checked out until now.

The problem is when I turn right it makes a clicking noise, like a baseball card in a bicycle's spokes. Doesn't ever do it when I turn left.  Although, it will do it a little when it is parked on a decline with the nose of the car facing down.  The faster you go when I turn to the right, the faster the noise will get.

It's not the cv joint. Im almost positive on that. I was told today by a certified mechanic at the shop that they "THINK" it's the flexplate/flywheel......

what do you think???? could it be that???  and how bad is it to change???

Thanks,
Jake

Answer
They can verify the flexplate by unbolting the torque converter from the flexplate.
The noise should change.
I PERSONALLY have not seen a 99 model exibit this, unless it breaks on its own.
The '04 to '06 models had this problem.
It is VERY hard for me to diagnose a noise not having the vehicle.
I would think it should not be THAT difficult to diagnose this noise.
Difficulty IF flexplate would be removal of tranny.
Hope this helps.
Good luck
