Pontiac Repair: Trunk wont open, pontiac bonneville, remote keyless entry

I have a 1994 Pontiac Bonneville SE and when I insert the trunk key... nothing happens.  The key turns but there seems to be no engaging of the lock.  How can I get the trunk open or repair it?  Thank you.

Hey Doug:

That's an interesting question. If you have an SSE or SSEI bonnie then you have the pass through in the back seat you can get a flashlight and a really long flat blade screwdriver and inset it into the back side of the trunk lock mechanism and turn it to open the trunk. Easier said then done. if you do not have that pass through then you have to have to remove the seat back and bottom of the rear seat to gain access.. I take it this car doesn't have remote keyless entry that would be to easy... my guess is that the link between the lock cylinder and the lock came off and that's why it doesn't open. good luck and I hope you have long arms :)
