Answer
Hi
First step is SAFTEY and SAFELY disarming the SIR system for removal.
IF YOU DO NOT FOLLOW THESE STEPS, IT CAN LEAD TO SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH.
Turn the steering wheel so that the vehicle's wheels are pointing straight ahead.
Turn OFF the ignition.
Remove the key from the ignition switch.
Remove the LH IP wiring harness junction block access panel.
Remove the AIR BAG Fuse from the LH IP wiring harness junction block.
Important
With the AIR BAG Fuse removed and the ignition ON, the AIR BAG warning lamp illuminates. This is a normal operation and does not indicate an SIR system malfunction.
Remove the connector position assurance (CPA)  from the inflatable restraint steering wheel module coil connector  located above the LH IP wiring harness junction block.
Disconnect the steering wheel module coil connector.
Remove the RH IP wiring harness junction block access panel.
Remove the CPA  from the inflatable restraint IP module connector located above the RH IP wiring harness junction block.
Disconnect the IP module connector.
These steps disabled the SIR....
now for removal of inflator module...
Disable the SIR. (Steps above) .
Remove the steering column trim covers.
Rotate the steering wheel one half turn to the right to access the inflator module screws.
Remove the screws from the back of the inflator module using a TORX® driver.
Remove the inflator module from the steering wheel.
Fully deploy the module before disposal. If the module was replaced under warranty, fully deploy and dispose of the module after the required retention period. Refer to Inflator Module Handling and Scrapping .
Remove the connector position assurance (CPA) from the inflator module electrical connector.
Disconnect the electrical connectors from the steering wheel inflator module.
Disconnect the horn ground lead from the steering wheel.
Rotate the horn contact lead counterclockwise ¼ turn in order to remove the horn contact lead from the steering column shaft tower.
No special tools required.
It is a pain in the ASS to get the screws out, I will admit but it can be done. You'll have to get upside down to remove Torx screws.
Hope this helps.
