Pontiac Repair: 1995 Pontiac Transport SE 3.8L V6, pontiac transport, cradel

Question
well see, whenever i'm at a stop, and im trying to move forward, there is a ratling noise from up front and underneath the drivers side, I've tried driving in overdrive, drive and now second, and the problem seems to do it in all those gears... And also, when i put the van into reverse or drive, the engine itself, moves back and forwarth, side to side, with a bit of a clunk sometimes...Took it into my old work, mechanic says engine/tranny mounts...COuld this be right?? And if there is anything things else u can think of, please let me know, this is all i have right now!...p.s. it doesn't make any noises when it's in park or neutral...
thanks

Answer
Hi
I would go with your mechanic, for one reason is he can here the noise, I cannot. I know that the lower cradel mount on these vehicles do make quite a racket when they fail. You could watch the movement of the engine yourself, and listen where the noise is coming from. That MAY give you an idea of the area the noise is coming from.
Just advice from experience.
Hope this helps.
Good Luck
