Pontiac Repair: hard start, coolant temp, buick century

Question
2000 BUICK cENTURY . The car will start fine at first start but after future starts it will turn over excessivly and eventually start.  I think it is coolant temp sensor. What do you think ? Thank you for your time.  bob

Answer
Hi, the temp sensor would not cause a slow start. The ignition module can get hot and cause a slow engine start. A clogged air filter can cause this also. this could be in the fuel system, check the fuel pressure when the engine is warmed up, it should be around 40psi to 43psi with the ignition on engine off.
