Pontiac Repair: starting problems, car wont start, security light

1993,pontiac,bonnivelle,sse, some times my car doesnt start,the security light comes on and the car wont start then as quickly as it wouldnt start it starts and the security light goes off.the car runs fine ,no problems ,until it happens again. Doesnt matter if its hot or cold ,been running for a couple of days, or not driven for a couple of days.

This is a very common problem. Most of the time it is caused by partially broken wires on the ignition lock cylinder. It is part of the anti theft system. When you put your key in the ignition, the theft deterant module reads the chip on your key. If it is not the correct key (or the wires are broken) it will not let the car start.
