Pontiac Repair: pontiac grand am part, cv joints, cv joint

Question
1995, not sure engine size, its a v6. i need a cv joint, i think. i had the hub bearing replaced and it still rides as though something is wrong in the wheel and it makes noise. its on the driver's side in the front.it failed inspection as the place where i took it said it was the hub bearing. evidently it was not just that. i am looking to price cv joints, as i have someone who can do the work without the labor. thanks for your time and knowledge

Answer
First off, you should take it back to the place that replaced the hub and let them know that that didn't fix your problem. It could be a CV joint. They will usually make a repeating clunking noise only when turning. If you are going to have it replaced, check with a local parts store, as I do not have parts prices or give estimates. When you check at the parts store, check on a rebuilt half shaft. Usually the price of the entire shaft with both joints will cost about half as much as just the CV joint and boot kit. And its a lot easier to install.
Hope this helps you out.
