I was reading your post about how you cahnged the computer in your 944 it started up drove it and it wont start did you ever find the problem. I am sort of having the same problem I got a new computer for my 944 it worked for about 4 months now I will drive it shut it off come back and it wont start I give it about a hour or so and try it and it fires right up I have no clue let me know what you think thanks   Chad-

I've been considering your question from a couple angles...first, I don't have a 944 so I'm not sure what post you are referring to.

Second, as for your no-start situation, I'm not at all convinced a computer, installed in the stock position, would be that affected by heat.  Normally, when the engine cools and then the starting is better means the heat is negatively affecting the starting process, not necessarily the computer itself.  

The place to start is to consider the possibility that the engine heat is warming up the nearby wiring (especially the wires at and from the starter...any heat adds to the wire's resistance and any resistance reduces the voltage you'd expect to be there.  As soon as the wiring cools and the resistance eases, the starter will work.

I'd suggest checking the wiring rather than the computer.  Give it a try.
