Porsche Repair: HEAVY WHITE SMOKE ON START UP, porsche dealer, combustion chamber

Question
I HAVE A 2001 911 PORSCHE CARRERA WITH 40,000 MILES.
I STORED IT IN MY GARAGE FOR THE WINTER, OCCASIONALLY STARTING IT UP.  I NOTICED ALOT OF HEAVY WHITE SMOKE AND MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON.  I TOOK IT OUT FOR A SPIN TODAY AND STILL GETTING HEAVY WHITE SMOKE WITH A SLIGHT ODOR.
COULD IT BE CONDENSATION FROM SITTING IN THE GARAGE TOO LONG OR SOMETHING MORE SERIOUS?
I PURCHASED IT LAST AUGUST FROM A PORSCHE DEALER AND IT WAS FINE UP UNTIL NOW

Answer
Hi Ronald,

I'd really like you to get a second opinion...but I believe the problem is built up combustion chamber carbon.  I will assume your procedure for starting the car "occasionally" was just that...starting the car, letting it idle, revving it a few times, letting it idle, and shutting it down.  If this is descriptive of the process what's happening now is an attempt by the engine to cleanse itself.

On the other hand if your procedure included starting the car, idling it, running it down the freeway for ten miles and back so as to get it to normal operating temperatures, then, there's something more serious happening.

I'm assuming scenrario one is more accurate and the car will tell you when it is happy again when it stops spitting out the residue from sitting without any real exercise.  Be sure to have someone else give you some advice too.
