Porsche Repair: Porsche 944 S2 fuel filter, porsche 944 s2, rear axle shaft

Question
I recently purchased this nice convertible and have done minor maintenance, like oil & filter change, spark plugs replacement and air filter change (was hard to find, under the front nose panel). Now I need to change the fuel filter. Any ideas where to look? It's not under the hood. I am assuming maybe under the car somewhere?

Answer
Hi Ed,

The "logical" place for the filter is at the fuel's exit point underneath the fuel tank.  That way, filtered fuel is sucked into the fuel pump...which should be right next to the filter.  They are both likely to be hidden up above the rear axle shaft.  DON'T undo anything until you de-pressurize the fuel lines by opening the gas cap.  Otherwise you'll have fuel all over yourself.  Other thank that caution, you should find the job fairly straight-forward.
