RV Repair: Control Panel, phone wires, ac plug

Question
I just purchased a 1980 Winnie brave.  My wife was letting the water run through the pump for a bit since it has been sitting.  The pump shut off after about 3 minutes.  I have noticed that my whole control panel beside the refrig is out.  Am I missing a reset somewhere? All the fuses look good in the panel and the two breakers are fine.

Answer
I know you know this but, you lost power somewhere.

Were you on the battery or the AC plug when this happened?

If battery power, check the DC circuitry (connections, fuses, etc).  Check the power converter for a reset or other problems.

If you were on AC, check the power cord at both ends, check the wall circuit.  Motorhomes and RV's use 30 amp plugs at the campground, much less is available at most house outlets.  I have heard of fires at the the house outlet; becaus the draw did not trip out the breaker, but put too much pull on the romex wires.

Otherwise keep looking for a tripped wire.  I have a tool I use to follow the wires back from the pump.  If the wire is dead, this tool puts a signal on the wire and you follow the signal with a receiver until you find the point where the circuit stopped.  The tool is actually used for phone wires in walls, but works great on electrical wires.  Costs about $15 from Harborfreighttool.com

good luck
