RV Repair: Norcold 1200LRIM, spade connectors, propane bottle

Question
I just pick up a Norcold 1200LRIM. I have it sitting in my garage. My question is when i plug it in nothing happens it doesn't turn. Can I run this to just see if it runs without gas hooked up or do i need gas? If so can i hook up a prpane tank to it?

Answer
Robert, There is no reason that you can't test the refer right on the garage floor. First you will need to get 12 volt to the pos and neg spade connectors on the rear of the refer. Then plug the 110 cord in and turn it on and to either auto or ac mode and it should work. If you want to hook up a propane bottle to it you can as long as you use a regulator rated at 11 water column inches of pressure. This means one other than the red ones you see out. The 12 volt is the key to making it operate. I hope this helps, Bill
