RV Repair: removing microwave from trailer, goldstar microwave, left hand side

Question
Hi Bill-  Our Goldstar microwave is not working and we have checked the outlets and they are okay.   The microwave sits in the front of the coach on the left hand side just where the slide (left forward side)moves the dinette out.  It is a 1999 Forest River Sierra 31ft with a 12 ft slide. The problem we are having is that we cannot get the microwave out due to it being stopped by the edge of the slide. There is no room to move it either way due to the cabinentry to try to get it around the slide. It is a built in microwave so trying to get to it from the right side would require pulling wood and cabinents the other side is the outer wall of the coach.  We did unscrew the plating holding it in place..could pull it a few inches and it hit the slide.  Any ideas???

Answer
Monica, It sounds to me like you are going to have to pull off the slide out facia. That is the piece that runs up and down the side of the slide. These are usually held on with screws that attach it from the front, although sometimes the screws are in the rear. If you can't tell how they are attached and if you are able to take a picture and send it to me at hunter42558@sbcglobal.net I will do my best to tell you what you need to do. If sending pictures try and get both sides of the facia trim. Thanks, Bill
