RV Repair: duo therm rv air cond. 1999 13,500, rv air, freeze control

Question
When first turned on ,runs great for first hours. Then notice that it quits blowing cold air. when I pull off filter cover it is all iced up on the inside of unit. Then I would turn off to let it melt and turn back on for awhile and the same thing happens again.

Answer
Charlie, It sounds to me like the freeze control is bad in the unit and needs replaced. Make sure it is connected to the condenser. It should be on the driver side of the air inside the ceiling grate. It will have 2 wires going to it and attaches to the condenser. This is what controls the unit from freezing up. Also make sure that no refrigerated air is going up into the intake side as this will also cause this. You can easily replace the freeze control as they have a plug in the control box that it hooks to. Thanks, Bill
