RV Repair: Roof wont lift when cranking, jayco 1207, professional repair

I have a 1994 Jayco 1207 that cranked open 2 days ago, but when trying to crank open today, one side cranked up while the other side didn't budge. I was told this is possibly a broken cable. If so, how difficult for an individual to repair or do you suggest professional repair, if so, what is the price repair range?  I am trying to sell.  Otherwise, camper is in very good/clean condition.

Rhonda, First make sure that the roof isn't just catching on one side. If it isn't then yes I would take it in for repairs. These can be difficult to repair and if you try to fix it yourself and can't do it, the shop will cost more because they will need to put it together to make sure of what is happening before repairing it.
