RV Repair: onan runs great while starter depressed, BUT shuts off when released, start button, fuel system

I searched "questions" to find a similar problem...no luck, I only discovered that you have helped alot of people with their questions.... "Onan Emerald Plus" Generator runs great while start button is depressed and appears to deliberatly shut down when start is released. Also, can you direct me to a website for parts catalog or exploded view?

Tom, Has this sat for a long period? If so then go through the fuel system and see that all is working right, filter, pump, etc. Also make sure the summer winter switch is in the right place. After that it may be the switch or something else causing the power loss. Usually it is the switch though. Onan are pretty dependable. You should be able to do a search for onan and get to their site and they should have breakdowns available. If not try going to cummingsonanstore.com. They should be able to help with manuals.
