RV Repair: Norcold Model 682, burner tube, auto light

I just bought this motorhome and when the frig is turned on it will not get cold, we did put it on gas and it would light (burner on outside would start) but would not seem to work, when on electric or automatic the light would not come on the control.  Any advice?

Don, I am not sure the specific models on all refers but I am guessing that it is a 2 door about 6 cu. ft. and is 2 way. Is this a manual light or auto light? The first thing I can tell you now without knowing all the details is for you to check that it is level and you do this with a round level in the freezer, and then turn it on and leave it for at least 8 hours and check to see if it is cooling. If not go outside and see if the burner tube is warm or hot to the touch. If it is then chances are the cooling unit has gone bad. If it is not hot out there then let me know what kind of controls it has so I can identify it better. If it is a 6182 then it is an older refer and if the cooling unit is bad and needs replaced then you will want to look at the box and see if it is in good shape. Also if this is the norcold model that has the long bar handle then I would replace it if the cooling unit is bad. Let me know your findings and I will tell you what to check next if the case need be. Thanks, Bill
