RV Repair: Suburban RV Furnace, winnebago warrior, mini motorhomes

Question

-------------------------------------------
The text above is a follow-up to Suburban Model DD 17DSI Furnace non-operation.  I did get the furnace to run.  It seems that I provided incorrect info to you yesterday in that I had a 12VDC supply when I did not.  After checking the input on the thermostat, I found no voltage; at this time I applied voltage to the input side and turned the thermostat on to include moving the temp control up;  after about 30 sec, the blower started so I removed the thermostat from the wall and removed the input side and temp. wired a 12 VDV line;  I then cycled the thermostat again but to no avail.  I then figured that I would reconnect the original input line and also apply 12VDC to the same point.  I then recycled the thermostat and after about 30 sec the blower started, then after a few more sec the heater lit and started putting out heat.  I then reduced the temp with the thermostat and the heat quit and cool air began.  So it worked just as advertised but only with the additional input of 12VDC at the thermostat so I tend to think that there is a bad connection somewhere on the input line but this line is necessary as it paralells the other components necessary for proper operation.  Am I right to feel this way?  I do need a wiring diagram for this 1992 Winnebago Warrior Toyota Micro-Minne Motor Home.  I do deeply appreciate your assistance in this matter.  I will check the Winnebago site that you mentioned in your answer.  Thanks again.  I have been looking for one of these mini motorhomes for years and I'm impressed with Winnebagos product.  Thanks again.

-----Question-----
I recently purchased a Winnebago Warrior Toyota that has sat for a few years.  I have everything in working order except the furnace which is a Model DD 17DSI and I do not have anything other than the schematic on the cover.  When I turn on the thermostat, nothing happens;  I do have DC voltage but the blower does not start.  I would like to have a picture of the component layout so that I can determine which item is the time delay so that I can check the voltage there.  Is there such data available on-line or do I have to write the company?  Unit removal instructions would be very useful also.

Lee,
In most cases the furnace will have to be removed for service.I would start by jumping the two t-stat wires together to make sure the t-stat is good. In order to remove the furnace. Pull the cover locate the wood screws going through the housing into the floor or cabinet.Remove the screws.Make sure the main LP valve is off. Disconnect the power,t-stat wires and LP line. Then plug the line. You will probably have to loosen or remove the exterior vent to allow removal. Most of the time it is a little bit of a wrestling match to get the furnace out.Once out you will find the time delay relay (part#231769) on the left hand side of the furnace behind the control module cover.Make sure to test the LP line upon re-installation. Do not operate until the LP connection is certified. Winnebago has a very good support page.Go to www.winnebagoind.com/resources/manuals/  then select parts you should be able to find your coach there depending on the year.

Answer
Lee,
I would check the fuse at the powercenter marked furnace. The power comes in at the furnace and one of the t-stat wires is jumped into that power. When the t-stat closes that loops the power back down to trigger the time delay relay allowing the blower to start it also sends power through the sail and limit switches then to the board if they are both functioning. (If your furnace lit they are). The board then powers the gas valve and ignighter.
