RV Repair: rv dometic fridge, dometic fridge, aljo

i have a 1996 aljo; the fridge cools but the check light stays on. the rv is parked at a campsite and will only use electric power. what do i need to replace? thanks

Charlene, It sounds to me like the controls for this refer are on the top. If so then you will need to go outside and open the burner area. Then look and see if turning it off and on you can make it try to light. My guess is though that the control board on the rear has gone bad. Dometic changed this several times as they were troublesome. I recommend that you replace it with a Dinosaur board. They have a 3 year warranty and are usually cheaper than the manufacture's board. They come with detailed instructions for replacing the board and if you don't feel like you can do it any repair shop should be able to do so. Thanks, Bill
