RV Repair: wedgewood oven, adjustment screw, pilot light

Question
i replaced the gas valve in back of the oven but it still will not shoot across the burner i do have a dim pilot light could my knob valve be bad

Answer
Gary, I am not sure you know the way the oven operates. Let me explain. You have a pilot that when the oven is turned to it's lowest setting, should go from a low pilot to a high pilot. This high plot then heats a bulb to what is called the safety valve. When the bulb is hot enough the safety valve opens and the oven lights. If you do not have the pilot going from low to high then the oven thermostat needs replaced. On some ovens you can find an adjustment screw in the center of the knob. Just pull the knob off and look to see if one is there. Then you can try to put the oven on the lowest setting and adjust the screw until the high pilot starts. If you are unable to adjust it then again replace it. I hope that this is helpful and clears up for you what to look for so you can diagnose and repair it. Thanks, Bill
