RV Repair: propane heater problem, fleetwood bounder, propane heater

Question
Hello,
I have a 1992 fleetwood bounder, and the heater is acting weird. I just purchased this rv this summer, and slowly started to get things running 1 by 1 as the Rv was sitting still for 8yrs from orig.owner. I had no problems with the heater until recently. I would turn it on and adjust temp.and it would start up and blow hot air etc. when it automatically turns off and then automatically turns back on the heater does not always blow hot air again, sometimes it does and sometimes it doesnt (on its own) If I manually shut off and manually turn on it would blow hot and work.
Its very weird and I dont believe it could be thermostate related, seems like somethings not igniting on its own???
Could you give me a hand with this?
thank you
joanne

Answer
Hi there
You may be suffering from a worn out furn motor. As they wear out they don't spin as fast and won't open a safety switch allowing the gas to come on. Does the motor sound "noisy"...if so then its time to have it replaced.
Also sometimes the spark probe assembly (spark plug) gets contaminated and won't spark hot enough to ignite on the first try...but I suspect it is the motor.
