RV Repair: Magnetek 6300 Q Series Hum, rv fulltime, dave jordan

My 6300 series converter has started to make a louder than usual hum.  I thought it was a cooling fan at first.  It seems to hum only when I get the rv warm inside.  I am a fulltimer and live in my rv "fulltime".  Is my converter going bad.  The hum will eventually become annoying.  Thanks.  Dave Jordan

Hi Dave.
That converter will make that "transformer hum", as its "dying".  
Magnetek makes a very nice solid state lower unit that replaces that old "hummer" and is super quite.
Its not a job for beginners. But if your a technical guy and patient, its "do-able". Takes about an hour with few tools.
