RV Repair: Toilet Bowl Leak, toilet bowl, machanism

Question
During the winter, all anti-freeze leaked out of the toilet bowl, leaving it dry for some time before we discovered the empty bowl.  Now it will not hold water.  Is there a cure for this problem.  We have tried lubricating the gasket, but it has not worked.  We have checked for tissue caught in it as it closes, but nothing is caught.  Any suggestions!

Hi Jim:
Probably the only way to repair the seal is to pull the toilet apart and take the whole slide machanism out. You have to take the toilet completely out and access the mechanism from below. It is not a particularly fun job but pretty straightforward. The seal can be bought from any number of places on the internet.
