RV Repair: H.R. ENDEAVOR 2002 38 FOOT - SLIDE OUT SLIPS, silicone spray, slide adjustment

BEDROOM SLIDE OUT SLIPS COMING AND GOING? WITH A STRONG PUSH IT WILL WORK BUT SOUNDS BAD.  CAN I DO SOMETHING TO FIX THIS?   WE ARE 1200 MILES FROM OUR HOME DEALER.

Hi Rick and Jane, On some of the bedroom slides the main drive gear is made out of brass. If this is the case, then its about to strip out completely. Continue to help the slide as much as you can until you can get it to a repair shop. There is an new steel gear replacement available. Now if the gear is already a steel one then ck it for wear. You can lube any Teflon ride blocks with silicone spray to help it slide easier. Do Not Lube The Gear or Gear Track. There are adjustments that can help but unless you are very confident in what you doing I would not recommend attempting them. I have answered slide adjustment questions in the past and I am very reluctant to guide anyone because its trial and error. We can cause damage if we screw up. Good Luck.
