Our front slide out does not come in although there is electricity going to the switch.  We are in Centerville, OH and there is no mobile service available.  We were scheduled to take the coach in for repair (another issue) when this occurred. We had a leak in the hyrdaulic fluid last year but that was fixed. Do you have any recommendations on what to do?

Thank you for your response.  It is a hydraulic system.

Hi Lynn:
The manufacturer put both hydraulic and gear-motor system in those. It would be easier to trouble shoot if you can tell me which unit you have.

Answer
Hi Lynn:
The power you have at the switch only controls a set of relays which then in turn start the hydraulic motor and control the direction of the fluid. The cylinder is a double acting one so that it can power the slide in and out. There is a seperate control box somewhere, probably near the pump, that has all the control things in it. The control box has a seperate fuse which may be blown. You should hear the hydraulic motor start when you try to move the slide. If you hear the motor then the directional valve is faulty. If you do not hear the motor then either it is bad or you are not getting power to it. Electrical trouble shooting can be frustrating but stay with it. Look for where the voltage should be and if it is not there find out why. You need to have a decent voltmeter or voltage probe. Good luck.
