Saab Repair: rough running, methyl hydrate, saab dealer

Question
hi I have a 94 -900.  this is the car my wife drives.  I do not as a rule do the maintainance on it, i take to a saab dealer.  the house is a calmer place this way.  the car was running very rough a couple of weeks ago so I took it in and they did a tune up- plugs wires rotor and cap... car ran better but still not great... she says that it runs rough when accelerating but that it is fine once up to speed.  today i had a lot of trouble getting it started, it took 6 or 7 tries... it seemed to want to catch but couldn't.  car turned over fine-  temp outside 24 degrees cold but not awful... anything suggestions....

Answer
Sounds to me like the dealer did not do a diagnostic on the computer. Chances are it's a sensor, O2, MAF, throttle position ETC. Could also be the injection computer, fuelpump or filter. It will need to go back to the dealer, I'm afraid..or take it to an alternate qualified shop if you have lost faith. It is most likely fuel-related. Could also be water in the gas, put in some methyl hydrate in the tank (gasline antifreze) and see if that helps. Good Luck.
