Saab Repair: coolant-very basic question, drain bolt, haynes manual

Question
hi rick,i know you have a 9000 so this maybe a waste of time ,i have a 1989 900 turbo 8v turbo
i am working from a haynes manual which tells you most stuff, but always leaves something out...usually really important.

i am replacing the coolant,i have drained the rad,but cannot find the drain bolt for the engine block, any ideas??

Answer
I have never seen an engine with a drainage bolt! Most engines, one simply empties it from the lower rad hose. There is almost never a requirement to totally drain any engine, so they don't come with drain bolts. The drain valve on the rad will take out all easily drained coolant, so if that is what you have done, then you're good to go.
