Saturn Repair: Valves, EGR Valves, Throttle Body, saturn dealer, egr valves

Question
I have a couple more questions that I forgot to ask.
1- Between 60 and 70 km/h, the car seems to chug and sounds like it is fighting for air, what could be the problem and solution for this?

2- For the EGR valve, all three were installed from the Saturn dealer. I have started using Husky mid-grade gas now so I am hoping to see an improvement. Also the service engine soon light went on and a mechanic resest it and it hasn't gone on at all since then. Should I still be looking at replacing it and how long knowing it the EGR valve is going, can I put off replacing it as long as the light is off? Also, how hard is it to replace myself.

Thanks...again.

Cheers
Mike

2- My service engine light went on again and I had a mechanic hook up the computer to run a diagnostic test and it came up with the EGR valve again for the 3rd time. Is it ok for myself to replace it and why does it keep going on me?

Answer
Mike,
 1) As long as you still have good acceleration at highway speeds, I wouldn't worry about it.  Let me know otherwise.

 2) Your Saturn dealer should have been replacing those EGR valves under their 12 mo. / 12,000 mile warranty, unless you were out of time / mileage.  I would not worry about replacing the EGR until the light comes one.  Then I would consider looking at the PCM for the problem.  I've never replaced that many EGR valves on one vehicle for the same problem.  You can replace the EGR valve yourself.  It has two 10-mm bolts that hold it down, one electrical connector and a gasket.  It's sitting right next to your cam cover and can be changed within ten minutes.  Hope this helps
