Saturn Repair: Saturn sc2 94 - Electrical Problems, saturn sc2, saturn owners

Question
I have a 94 SC2 I got about a year ago...when I got it it had its problems most major are sunroof didnt work (replaced motor and fuse, works fine now). Im assuming the radiator blew in it before I got it due to the fact that the fan is on a simple on/off switch and the fan is wired directly to the relay box (bad idea I know) and junk yard type yellow marks on the radiator itself.
Well about 2 months ago I started having problem withjh the car. I got stupid and left the fan on when I was in a rush to work thus killing my batt.   I did this about 4 times total....and I have done my fair share of cussing about it.. I have sincee replaced the batt as I killed cells in the old one...but now when I turn my headlights on at night my batt light flashes and ALL of my lights dimm in and out...I pulled the car alarm, radio, and I have checked my alt (its fine)so what the hell is going on with this?..did I kill the computer system?
I get pulled over for just looking at my car these days HELP!

Answer
Hi Dee,
I know your woes.  I have also done the direct wirng thing and paid for it later.  You have probably over taxed your alternator (they are pretty fragile in the first place).  I would say say to take it to a local autoparts store (like AutoZone, if you have those in your area) and have them test it (on the car and they do it for free).  Also, the Battery Cables may be the cultprit as they wear our from excessive current...I know it sounds stupid but it has been the problem for a lot of us Saturn Owners.  they are inexpensive to replace (about $15 for both Positive and negative). Other than that, I don't know what it may be.  It COULD be the computer but I doubt it...they are VERY durable.
WishI had a better answer.  Best of Luck with it,
