Question -
I have a 97 saturn sc1 that has approximately 125K miles on it.  It has been idling rough since it hit the 100k mark.  I have a friend who is a mechanic who said that's just what Saturns do after 100k miles.
Is this true and if not, is there anything that you would suggest checking?  It seems to run fine but just idles really rough.  I have run a full diagnostic on it and nothing comes up.  No engine lights have ever come on either.

Hi well its not just somthing saturns do usually it turns out to be a sticky egr or a sticky iac motor but the thing to do i keep an eye on it an if the ses light comes o get it checked or if the idle gets worse but if u clean these up u may get ride of the problem for about 15$ instead of 150 later. if u need help with the cleaning let me know its easy.
Yes, I would like some info on cleaning up one or both of these to see if it would help.  Any information you could provide in regards to this I would really appreciate.

Hi well on the egr u will need a tooth brush (old) and a can of intake cleaner and a socket set also may need a new gasket for it so ask your dealer they are cheep..ok take the valve off and flip it upside down u will see a hole and apintle valve clean that up as claen as u can the push the valve in and clean that part out and reinstall it now with the aic the same thing but dont push it in or out when u remove it leave it the same way it is just clean around it and clean the shaft and seat..if u need to know more let me know..
