Saturn Repair: Saturn shimmy problem, 2001 saturn l200, saturn l200

Question
I own a 2001 Saturn L200 and have had this same issue.  After taking it to the dealer a number of times and having them deny there was an issue (I was still under warranty), I had another shop look at it.  What was discovered was that after a free alignment check, there was a substantial issue with the rear alignment of the wheels.  The front wheels were also well out of adjustment.  They needed to perform major work on both ends of the car to the tune of $200+ to finally get the car back into alignment.  The rear tires were badly scalloped and needed to be replaced also.  After all of this the car drives like a dream.

Answer
Dean,
I hate to say this, but you should have pushed the issue even further with Saturn.  There IS a problem with the alignment of the rear tires on the L-series, more-so with the earlier years.  I can't release any specifics on the matter, but I think you should call 1-800-7-SATURN and rattle some cages.  You are by far not the first Saturn owner that has had problems with the rear tires / rear alignment.  Hope this helps.
