Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): weak spark - tecumseh 8hp

My yardman chipper/shredder won't start. I've replaced the spark plug, SS module (laminations) cleaned and adjusted the magnet gap to .012", verified the "kill" switch wire. same condition very weak spark and no start. HELP!!!!!

This is the second question recently regarding "weak spark"

I've only seen an ignition module with weak spark once.  The best tool to use to determine the ignition module spark is to use an inline spark test with a .166 of an inch air gap.  If you see spark using an inline spark tester then the ignition module is good.

Have you tried priming the engine with brand new gasoline to see if the engine tries to start?  Does the engine have compression?  When was the last time the engine was started?
