Hi,
I have a Craftsman LT1000 16.5HP riding mower, Model 917-276134,recently it is draining gas from the gas tank thru the carburetor and ending up in the oil reservoir. The gas tank drains dry over a time frame of about a week and the air filter and carburetor is saturated with gasoline. What is the problem and what is the fix for it. Thank you.

Most likely it is a leaky a carb leaky inlet needle seat.  The usual fix is to rebuild the carb.  The other fix you could do is install an inline fuel shut off valve and just turn the  valve off when you are done using the mower.  Either way you will need to change the oil.  What engine do you have?  What is the engine model, type and code number?
