Question
QUESTION: Hello, i have a honda hs828 snowblower with a broken auger shaft. i have looked at the diagrams on the subject, but still can't get a good explanation as how to remove the auger shaft from the ring gear without damaging the gearbox housing. will it slide out easy, or is there a trick to finessing it out? thank you for your time.

ANSWER: Is there a locking pin or clip on the auger shaft?

Do you have the parts link you were looking at?

QUESTION: Looks like a clip on the bearing but not the gear, Here is the link to the diagram i am looking at ahttp://www.boats.net/parts/search/Honda/Snow%20Blower/0/HS828%20TAS%20SNOW%20BLO

Answer
Have you removed the main impeller? You have to remove the shaft by pulling it out from the front to the rear of the gear case.   If you can un-screw the worm gear from the ring gear you may have to remove the auger shaft (part number 1) to drop the ring gear down.

How did you break the shaft?
