Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Craftman 944.524691 motor Briggs & Stratton, gas stabilizer, briggs stratton

Question
Hi, i have a problem with machine, last week i tried to start the motor without success (with electric starter)the tank was full of new gas. I removed a piece of plastic that cover the carburetor and i gently knocked on the base of the carburetor (housing of the float ?) I retry to start, suddenly the motor start. I did my job. The motor missed gas after 1 hour approx. I re-fuel the tank and the motor re-start normally, after a couple minutes i stop the engine for five minutes, the engine never start again even if i knock on the housing.

i have changed the spark plug and i put gas stabilizer in the tank  that i bought from sears.

Thanks for the answer

You would need to remove the carburetor and clean it and/or rebuild it there is dirt collecting in the jets, float area causing the fuel to stop flowing to the carburetor. You can do it yourself if you are handy if not have the machine taken into a mower shop to have them do it. If you do do it your self make sure you get a breakdown of the carburetor so you know how it came apart. You also can take pictures to help you re assemble the carburetor.
