Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Briggs & Stratton 422707, briggs stratton engine, briggs stratton

Question
I have a Briggs & Stratton engine on my lawn tractor model# 422707 1510 01. Been working on it because it won't run unless on half choke. Rebuilt the carb & fuel pump all ready.I've readjusted the fuel screw anywhere from 3/4 turn to 3 1/2 turns and still can't get it right. Looked for any type of air leaks but found none. When I try to increase speed, it revs up & down. Can't figure this one out, please help!!

Answer
Did you blow compressed air from an air compressor through all the carburetor passages?  It still sounds like the carb is the problem.  I have had to clean carbs two to three times to get them to work.  I know I have had to clean the larger carbs, like yours, a couple of times to get them to run good.

Was there any debis in the carb when you first took it apart?
