Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): 240 John Deere lawn tractor, john deere lawn tractor, john deere lawn

Question
Hi.  A friend of mine has a lawn tractor, john deere 240 with a Kawasaki 13hp engine.  This is all the information he gave me on identifying the product.  The problem is in the fuel or carb.  He says he can pour gas inside the carb and it will crank until the gas is gone.  With this information, can you tell me what model or kind of carb is on this engine?  Can you tell me where to buy a new or aftermarket carburetor for this motor? I'm sorry I don't have further numbers of the engine. I have been unable to find information out just by using google. I ask him if he checked the inline filter etc and he said gas was getting to the carb.  Any help you can be in the matter will be greatly appreciated.

The carburetor needs to be roved and cleaned out there may be some debris stuck in the jets not letting fuel go past the float, you may want to try to remove the float bowl and get some carburetor cleaner and spray the needle the seat and other parts.  Try this web site they sell Kawasaki parts, without  the engine numbers all you can do is try to see if a carburetor looks the same.
